چکیده

The scheduling of (parallel) serial-batch processing machines is a task arising in many industrial sectors. In the metal-processing industry for instance, cutting operations are necessary to fabricate varying metal pieces out large base slides. Here, (cutting) jobs have individual, arbitrary slide capacity requirements (sizes), individual times and due dates, specific material (i.e. each job belongs one family, whereby different families cannot be processed within same batch thus incompatible). addition, switching slides dependent adjustments machine parameters cause sequence-dependent setup times. All these conditions need considered while minimising total weighted tardiness. For solving problem, mixed-integer program several tailor-made construction heuristics (enhanced by local search mechanisms) presented. experimental results show that problem instances with up five 60 can tackled using optimisation model. experiments on small (with 400 jobs) purposefully used limitation improves solution quality remarkably. Applying best heuristic data two real-world application cases shows its huge potential increase delivery reliability.

Multi-Objective Unrelated Parallel Machines Scheduling with Sequence-Dependent Setup Times and Precedence Constraints

This paper presents a novel, multi-objective model of a parallel machines scheduling problem that minimizes the number of tardy jobs and total completion time of all jobs. In this model, machines are considered as unrelated parallel units with different speeds. In addition, there is some precedence, relating the jobs with non-identical due dates and their ready times. Sequence-dependent setup t...

Pareto-based Multi-criteria Evolutionary Algorithm for Parallel Machines Scheduling Problem with Sequence-dependent Setup Times

This paper addresses an unrelated multi-machine scheduling problem with sequence-dependent setup time, release date and processing set restriction to minimize the sum of weighted earliness/tardiness penalties and the sum of completion times, which is known to be NP-hard. A Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) model is proposed to formulate the considered multi-criteria problem. Also, to solve the mo...

Heuristic scheduling of jobs on parallel batch machines with incompatible job families and unequal ready times

This research is motivated by a scheduling problem found in the di6usion and oxidation areas of semiconductor wafer fabrication, where the machines can be modeled as parallel batch processors. We attempt to minimize total weighted tardiness on parallel batch machines with incompatible job families and unequal ready times of the jobs. Given that the problem is NP-hard, we propose two di6erent de...

A hybrid genetic heuristic for scheduling parallel batch processing machines with arbitrary job sizes

This paper investigates the scheduling problem of parallel identical batch processing machines in which each machine can process a group of jobs simultaneously as a batch. Each job is characterized by its size and processing time. The processing time of a batch is given by the longest processing time among all jobs in the batch. Based on developing heuristic approaches, we proposed a hybrid gen...

Scheduling jobs on parallel machines with sequence-dependent setup times

The study considers the scheduling problem of identical parallel machines subject to minimization of the maximumcompletion time and the maximum tardiness expressed in a linear convex objective function. The maximum completiontime or makespan is the date when the last job to be completed leaves the system. The maximum tardiness is indicated bythe job that is completed with the lo...
